Dr. Carissa Doherty, ND

Dr. Carissa Doherty, ND completed her premedical studies at the University of Guelph obtaining a Specialized Honours degree in Bio-Medical Toxicology. During her undergraduate years, Carissa was fortunate enough to be one of the first people in Canada to work in product development with inulin, a complex carbohydrate, now used widely in the supplement industry as a pleasant tasting fibre.

In 2002, Carissa received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and remains a member in good standing to this day.

Dr. Carissa Doherty, ND, and her sister Dr. Sonya Doherty, ND founded Natural Care Clinic in Burlington in 2005. The Natural Care Clinic is an internationally recognized centre of care and education. The Natural Care Clinic team is committed to improving awareness about chronic disease and how Naturopathic Medicine can improve quality of life. Their approach to treating chronic illness has become world renowned drawing patients to the Natural Care Clinic from all over Ontario, Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe. The Natural Care Clinic team, led by Dr. Carissa Doherty ND, provides educational conferences for health care providers focused on management of complex disorders.

In addition to a general family practice, Dr. Carissa Doherty takes a special interest in Lyme disease and chronic infections, methylation medicine and environmental medicine.

Dr. Sonya Doherty, ND

Dr. Sonya Doherty, ND been practicing as a Naturopath since 2003, after completing her pre-medical studies at the University of Western Ontario and her post graduate naturopathic training at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Sonya has completed The Autism Research Institute’s Level I and II Defeat Autism Now! training, providing her with the research and expertise necessary to help every child reach their developmental potential. DAN doctors are trained to help treat children with autism as well as other neurodevelopmental disorders.

After becoming a DAN Doctor, she began her training with the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs. The FMAPS education is a comprehensive training program for physicians at the forefront of medical treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. The level of mastery that MAPS fellows (FMAPS) achieve in the field of complex pediatric conditions makes them among the best-prepared practitioners in this field.

Dr. Sonya is extremely passionate about biomedical treatment. She has been practicing since 2003 and has treated thousands of children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorders. As the mother of 3 young children, she is dedicated to bringing the most current research and advanced treatments to her multi-disciplinary wellness clinic located in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Danielle O’Connor, ND

Danielle O’Connor is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor that graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2003. She has worked at health clinics in Toronto and Burlington alongside integrative medical doctors using progressive therapies such as IV vitamins and minerals, chelation, bio-identical hormones and light therapy. Her interest in natural medicine peaked while travelling around the world as a professional figure skater with Walt Disney’s World On Ice.

Danielle’s passion for providing her patients with the best naturopathic care has led her to incorporating a wide variety of treatment modalities into her practice. Danielle utilizes nutrition, acupuncture, botanical medicine, detoxification, and biotherapeutic drainage in helping patients address and treat the underlying cause of their conditions.

Danielle continues to develop her training with the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs in Biomedical treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, AD/HD, childhood anxiety, OCD, PANDAS/PANS/Pitands and ODD. She also believes there is a need to look into the prevention of many of these disorders when there is a known predisposition.

Danielle utilizes many testing methods to track progress of patients care including, but not limited to, saliva hormone testing, Organic Acid Tests, Neurotransmitter Testing, blood tests, stool tests, IgG Food Sensitivity testing, and reading genomic testing such as MTHFR reports for SNP’s.

As a mother of four, Danielle has a love of children and enjoys working with families to support and optimize the health and development of each individual. She provides families with professional healthcare, offering safe, effective, and reliable solutions.

Racheal Onah, Bsc. (Hons)

Racheal Onah is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine graduate from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Toronto Campus. She is also a certified Birth Doula from York Region Naturopathic Doulas.

In addition, she has a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Biology from York University, Toronto. She has worked in a variety of pharmacies as a pharmacy assistant for over 8 years. Racheal discovered naturopathic medicine while working in healthcare, where she learnt that Naturopathic Doctors focus on the root cause of ailments by using natural remedies.

Racheal learnt the importance of focusing on the symptoms and what is causing the problem. Since then, Racheal has additional training in pediatric conditions such as autism, atopy, metabolic and genetic health. Racheal has also supported mothers by attending births as a birth doula. Racheal will be working under the supervision of Dr. Carissa Doherty, ND until licensure, and she looks forward to supporting families for acute and chronic conditions.
