Preconception to early infancy care is an important consideration for couples planning pregnancy, who are currently pregnant or for families with infants. The pregnancy and baby care program has been designed by our naturopathic doctors using the most up to date research on optimizing development. Mounting evidence is showing that environmental toxins can negatively impact babies in utero and in early infancy. A comprehensive evaluation can highlight genetic weaknesses or environmental threats to optimal development. Our unique program has been created by Dr. Carissa and Dr. Sonya.
Dr. Carissa Doherty is one of very few naturopathic doctors who also holds a degree in biomedical toxicology. This specialized biochemistry training in combination with her post graduate degree in Naturopathic medicine puts her in a position of being an expert in environmental toxicity and optimizing development for infants. Dr. Carissa is part of an elite group of experts who train with Dr. Walter Crinnion, putting her at the forefront strategies to prevent developmental disorders.
Dr. Sonya Doherty specializes in the biomedical treatment of Autism, ADHD, OCD and speech delay. She is currently finishing her fellowship with the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs; which is the most comprehensive training program of its kind. The level of mastery that FMAPS fellows achieve in the field of complex pediatric disorders makes them among the best-prepared practitioners in preventing, treating and optimizing development.
