Going toe to toe with bronchitis, a sore throat and an ear infection in a 10 month old

October 6, 2013 by Dr. Carissa Leave a Comment

It started off with a runny nose and a little cough so I wasn’t worried. I doubled the probiotics and make sure to remember the vitamin D. The babies diet is pretty clean anyway but I made sure she avoided dairy and bad sugar.

And then it got scary. The awful deep wheezing cough and then the loss of appetite. I freaked out and went to the walk in. I got antibiotics and was about to start them when I realized I didn’t even give the baby anything to fight off her infection or to support her immune system. So I held off on the antibiotic for 8 hours and went to work.

For the bronchitis:

The baby did glutathione nebulizer twice a day. 2ml of a herb mixture, 3 times a day. The mixture makes Buckle’s seem like grape juice. One squirt per nostril of saline spray twice a day. At night I slathered her with Vicks, clasp to oil and oregano oil on her back, chest and feel. Made sure she didn’t touch the oregano oil and didn’t put any near her face. It really burns on open skin like the lips. Can use cut up garlic instead. Stinky but amazing. Warming socks at night.

For the ear aches:

St. Francis ear oil 2 drops 3 times a day. Traumeel ear drops 3 times a day.

For a sore throat:

Vineel spray 4 squirts a day for sore throat. Hepar sulphur homeopathic 2 pellets 3 times a day for the feeling of swallowing glass.

In the morning, after a mild virus fighting fever, the sickness had broken, and baby was happy and started eating. It was hard, a lot of time and work. She hated every minute but she was really quite well 2 days later.

Please trust your instincts and work your butt of while your kids are sick even if you give antibiotics to give their immune systems something to fight with so they can use the illness as an opportunity to strengthen their immune systems.
