Diet that is gluten free and dairy free because of the inflammatory nature of these foods. Wheat Belly by William Davis and The Devil is in the Milk by Keith Woodford explains why. Food that are inflammatory increase demand for the baby. When we eat foods that are organic and have less inflammation, we can optimize development in utero (while pregnant).
Methlycobalamin (Methyl-B12) 30mg a day. A good company is AOR. 2 a day of the ultra methlycobalamin. This recommendation provides a co-factor in the conversion of folic acid to the most active form folate. 40% of us are methyl deficient and this puts the fetus at risk for developmental delays.
Methly folate. 1000mcg-5000mcg. Good companies are Douglas with it’s Methyl folate L-5-MTHF or Metagenics with it’s FolaPro. This is a more active form of folic acid. Not everyone will be able to use folic acid and we know it is essential for fetal developemnt. When taking this before conception and during pregnancy, there is less risk for anemia and better use of folic acid which is essential for fetal developement.
